The Elvis version of this song is by far the best. Willie Nelson's version is too country sounding. Elvis has more feeling.You can't top THE KING.

According to the wikipedia article on this song: "Always on My Mind" is a song originally recorded by Brenda Lee and released on June 12, 1972" The information seems correct.

IT was released by Lee on June 12, 1972. Recordered at some point prior. Reports say a few weeks before Elvis did. Elivis recorded his in March but it wasn't released until later and rose up the charts in Nov 1972. Brenda Lee was the origonal artist followed by Elivis and then Willie Nelson.

Does anyone know the EXACT date that this version was recorded?The Elvis version was recorded on March 29th 1972, so I presume it must have been earlier.
